Diagnosis Pain All Over Body:

The acute small gut obstruction presents with following features.

Severe colicky abdominal pain is experienced which is sudden in onset and appears and disappears every few minutes.

The colic is experienced more around the umbilicus although it spreads all over the abdomen.The pain umbilicus presenting it spreads all 

over the abdomen. The pain is the presenting feature of small gut obstruction.

VOMITING:

Vomiting is severe and recurrent. The higher the obstruction in the small gut,more is the vomiting. In jejuna inced ilea obstruction the vomiting is practically 

experienced with ever attack of pain and patient gets dehydrated very quickly. and food particles,then it is bile stained and later on it is flatulent.

DISTENSION AND CONSTIPATION:

These are also features of intestinal obstruction but may be either minimally present or even absent in small gut obstruction.

This is because patient gets too ill much before these features would appear.
