Amount Of Blood Loss During Periods:

In adults the general effects are slight when less than 20% blood volume is lost.
A sudden loss of 33% blood volume may not be fatal, however in such a loss the effects are always serious.
During early period , the path-physiological have immediate fainting attack followed by redistribution of the remaining blood volume.
The fainting attack (immediate syncope) or primary shock is vase Val attack and is seen only in human beings.
It commences with yawning, sighing respiration, nausea & vomiting which is followed by loss of consciousness. This attack is
rarely longer than few minutes.
The attack is associated with lowering of blood pressure, slowing of pulse and coldness of extremities .In the beginning,
the cardiac output remains normal but afterwards the muscular vessels dilate, pooling of blood occurs and  blood pressure falls and cerebral
blood flow is diminished which leads to loss of consciousness.
